Resumo
Pharmacotherapeutic monitoring is an instrument of attention Pharmaceuticals, in which the
pharmaceutical professional is responsible for the optimization of use of medicines and their
effects through the promotion, prevention and / or resolution of drug therapy problems. The
study classified as exploratory of quantitative approach, aimed to evaluate the
pharmacotherapeutic monitoring in patients seen at a university pharmacy in Manaus. As
pharmacotherapeutic monitoring was used the Dáder Method, and as a research tool the
anamnesis chart based on the Ministry's pharmaceutical inquiry form of Health. With open
and closed questions, was related the social, clinical and pharmacotherapy of each patient.
The information was quantified and classified statistically by Epi Info software, developed by
CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Throughout the study, 115 patients of
which 68.70% were female and 30.30% were male. Most patients were hypertensive, and a
small portion had of diabetes. Patients who used 3 medications per day, obtained greater
effectiveness in relation to patients who used 6 to 10. The group of drugs most used by the
public were active in the cardiovascular system (60.87%), and expressively, there was drug
interaction in patients of the anti-hypertensive with antihypertensive (26.53%). Thus, 25
patients (21.74%) felt discomfort when using some type of medication, while 42 patients with
cases of problems related to the use of medicines (PRM), like that PRM 1 (23.81%), PRM 2
(21.43%), PRM 3 (11.90%) and PRM 4 (19.05%). The most identified medication-related
problem was the use of prescription contraindicated drugs (20.87%). The usual action plan for
patients was the referral with reasoned improvement proposals for professionals enabled
(53.91%). Lastly, the pharmacotherapeutic monitoring carried out proved to be able to detect
problems in patients' pharmacotherapy and perform clinically relevant recommendations
