Resumo
The objective of this work was to analyze whether impact activities influence
growth beyond
genetic factors, investigating whether impact activities or sports caused growth or whether
human growth was only due to genetic factors. This research was based on the principles of
integrative research of a descriptive nature, using as an a nalysis source, articles available in
the databases SCIELO, CAPES and VHL (Virtual Health Library). The results show that the
impact activities do not influence the final growth, however, they help the adolescent to reach
the final height pre defined by ge netics, stimulating the production of growth hormones. If
carried out correctly, respecting the intensity and adequate nutrition, the human being will be
able to take advantage of these activities to have a healthy development. Although they do not
increas e the bone in the linear direction, they make the bones stronger and more resistant,
increasing the bone mass, preventing lesions and osteoporosis.
