Resumo
Phytotherapy is a science that has its medicines obtained from medicinal plants or their derivatives, with a prophylactic, curative, palliative objective as well as for diagnosis. This study aimed to evaluate the prescription of herbal medicines at a Magistral Pharmacy in the City of Manaus -AM. The research was documentary / digital, retrospective and descriptive, through the electronicprogram as a research source and based on the analysis of prescriptions for herbal medicines for the months of November 2019 and January 2020. The results were verified from analysis of data expressed in graphs and tables. After analyzing the data, it was observed that all prescriptions (160) had the user's name and gender; and of these 136 were prescribed for women (85%) and 24 (15%) for men. The professional areas that most presented prescribers were nutritionists (08), dermatologist (08), Unidentified Physician (06), General practitioner (04). The ten herbal medicines dispensed during the research were: Equisetum arvense L., Garcinia gummi-gutta, Tribulus terrestre, Citrus sinensis, Gymnema sylvestre, Senna alexandrina, Panax ginseng, Aloe vera L, Ginkgo biloba andHamamelis virginiana. The capsule pharmaceutical form produced in the solids laboratory, presented itself as the most prescribed during the study period. In the last two years, the herbal medicine market grew 15% per year, which reinforces that the herbal medicine sector has great growth potential and that there is much to be explored
