Resumo

This work was prepared at an atypical moment and changes took place at the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UEA), which caused numerous problems for the academic community, influencing classroom activities and bringing inconvenience to students and teachers. The main objective of this research is to analyze the main difficulties faced by Calculus II and III students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research is qualitative in nature, as it seeks to attribute fundamental importance to the testimonies and responses of the subjects participating in the investigation. Regarding the investigation strategies, they consisted of a descriptive research, with the use of two questionnaires, one referring to the dropouts of the discipline and the other inferred to those who actively participated in the classes, and also through observations and interactions with the focus group. With the study carried out, and in view of the questionnaires answered by the students, it was observed that among the reasons that influenced the withdrawal of some academics was the lack of motivation caused by the continuation of the model of virtual classes that the lived moment demanded. On the other hand, other students continued to be frequent and assiduous, accepting the new challenges imposed by the new teaching modality, even with all the obstacles encountered.
