Geografia e cinema: uma análise geográfica do filme Amazonas, Amazonas - de Glauber Rocha

Abstract

This presents work brings an analysis of the documentary Amazonas, Amazonas, by Glauber Rocha, 1965, displayed in Manaus and the rest of Brazil. We propose a social analysis of the documentary and its application as a methodological tool in different areas of geography teaching, specifically its use in the classroom. We approached the importance of its filmic content for the geographic teaching besides suggesting methodological activities that can assist the understanding of the documentary and the social contest of the Amazonian and its elements introduced in the film. The work had an instigating component the need to find ways that would bring students closes to cinema and Geography and their objects of study. Thus it was possible to elaborate from the documentary content a small guide of studies and activities to be applied in the classroom, based on areas of knowledge of Geography teaching, in an interdisciplinary approach, showing how cinema and Geography teaching can be used mutually as a learning teaching tool.
