Amar, verbo intransitivo: a prosa experimental modernista de Mário de Andrade

Abstract

Mário de Andrade's first published novel is the result of his incessant search for a renewal of Brazilian literature. Amar, verbo intransitive presents linguistic and structural innovations that symbolize Modernism's break with the narrative models of the past, thus aiming at a modern representation of Brazil Brazil through literature. This article aims to analyze the innovations proposed by the author in the construction of the idyll, reflecting how these experiments aesthetic experiments were used and how they contributed to the development of an experimental and modernist project that aimed to emphasize the cultural diversity of the country.
