Resumo

The artistic productions, in this case the literary, are the result of the relationship between the artist/author with his time and therefore can reveal aspects of society in which it is inserted, culture, social organization and forms of coexistence, even if in a work permeated with an imaginative character. In this work we will approach the relationship between the books of the Harry Potter series, by J.K. Howling, with a remarkable fact of History, the German Nazism. For that, we will start from authors such as Antônio Cândido (2010), who discusses the relation between literature and society; Isabelle Cani (2008), who presents analyses between the series and Nazism; Ian Kershaw (2010), who discusses the life of Adolf Hitler. Methodologically, this is a bibliographical research with production of argumentative text that starts from the characters to the categories of social division existing in the series. With that presents reflective approach on racial prejudice from a literature not considered canonical and that passes for looks depreciative looks in the academy. Keywords: Harry Potter; thoroughbreds; literature and society; racial prejudice.
