O romance de formação na pós-modernidade a partir de juventude

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present an analysis of the aspects of the novel of formation Youth, by Coetzee (2005), seeking to identify the peculiarities that the themes of postmodernity assume in this work. To do so, the concept of the novel of formation will be explored, considering the conceptions of formation and the historical conjunctures that propitiated the foundation of this concept, based on Maas (2000) and Jaeger (1995). Then, the conditions that emerge from the context of postmodernity will be explained, considering the approaches of Jameson (1985) and Lipovetsky (2004). At the end, given the concepts discussed, the aspects of the novel by Coetzee (2005) will be analyzed. Keywords: novel of formation; postmodernity; J. M. Coetzee
