Resumo
This article aims to analyze the female representation in the protagonists of the music videos of the American singer Lana Del Rey. For this, a historical journey is made through feminist theory to understand the female social body from concepts that make up the compulsory order of gender/sex/desire proposed by Judith Butler (1990), as well as the subversion of this system and the performative acts of the subject, which create stereotypes assigned by society. These are observed in dialogue with the singer's music videos and put in evidence her initially unpretentious relationship about feminism. Next, we understand the music video as a discursive genre from Thiago Soares (2012). Finally, the music video of National Anthem is analyzed by discussing categories of analysis from the semiotics of image and film studies from Laurent Jullier and Michel Marie (2009) with a focus on the level of the plane. In it, the woman's body and its performances are perceived by filmic choices, while they can also be seen in the music, even if sometimes in a contradictory way, thus showing two languages that dialogue evidencing the same theme. Keywords: social body; feminism; music video; Lana Del Rey.
