Resumo
The present work presents an investigation of the Geometric Design in the Mathematics classes aid, specifically in the Geometry area, with the use of manipulative materials (ruler, compass and protractor). For that, this work presents some moments of the history of the Geometric Drawing in Brazil, since its development until its devaluation. The work is supported the Van Hiele's Theory and its five levels of significant learning in the teaching of Geometry. We verified the guidelines of official documents with respect to Brazilian Education, such as the National Curricular Parameters (PCN), the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC) and their respective instructions to the teaching of Geometry through the use of Geometric Design manipulative materials. With the research-action methodology being chosen for this work, data collection began in March 2022 with applications of the methodology with geometric drawing and with evaluative questionnaires in the classroom with 6th grade students. There was the application of a questionnaire to students at the end of the proposed subject in class, with the aim of verifying the understanding of students about the Geometric Design. With the result of this research, we show that it is possible to ally the teaching of Geometry with the Geometric Design and its supporting materials, as a facilitating and interactive methodology of teaching-learning.
