Curso básico de Roadie

Abstract

PRESENTATION Welcome to the Basic Roadie Course, offered in person in Manaus in 3 editions, through the cultural projects Curso de Roadie (which took place in November 2023, at the Antísthenes de Oliveira Pinto Municipal School), and Rota Roadie (which took place in April and May 2024, at the Professora Maria Auxiliadora Santos Azevedo Municipal School and the Governador Melo e Póvoas Full-Time State School, respectively). With it, you'll learn about the exciting and dynamic profession of the roadie, a key member of the sound and stage crew who supports the artist before, during and after the show and at all stages of a tour! The Rota Roadie Project presents the Roadie Course in different neighborhoods of Manaus. On the one hand, the aim is to encourage the roadie as a professional responsible for the technical side of artistic and cultural events, producing artistic shows, organizing the stage, preparing equipment and accompanying artists, musicians and bands. On the other hand, it understands the roadie as a cultural agent who observes the demands of their community and forges partnerships with artists, musicians and bands, integrating spaces, to propose, plan and produce shows according to the potential of the territory. The Roadie Course has been organized into three theoretical and practical meetings totaling 18 hours. Each meeting offers the following activities: theoretical training, practical assembly and musical meetings around improvisation, classical music and popular music, open to the community, to bring the public closer to artists who tell their story with the instrument and their art, explain their training and reveal the importance of professionalization. With this experience, the participants are prepared to work in a dynamic area in which knowledge is constantly evolving, arousing interest in improving their knowledge. The good performance of each participant guarantees approval to receive the certificate, issued as an extension project by the Amazonas State University. This material is designed to provide you with the basic foundations you need to become a competent and successful roadie. As a roadie, you will play an essential role behind the scenes at live shows, ensuring that everything runs smoothly for the artists and the audience. In addition, you can become a cultural agent in your community, observing the demands of your region and organizing various events. Enjoy!
