Resumo

This work is the result of an action of extension program at Internship in Education IV, from the undergraduate course in Biological Sciences/UFRR. This work is based in the transversal system of teaching-learning process of Piconez (2004), where reflections are brought forth from planning. We choose the “Plantae Kingdom” theme, considering the fact that students do not see botany as an interesting subject; in addition, some teachers find it as a difficult content to work with, as well as, being hard to keep the interests of students on it. Structures, systematic sequence of organisms and groups, very difficult taxonomic classification turned out to be a challenge. Short courses were carried out (20 hours) in two public schools for 31 sophomore high school students. The main objective of this work was to encourage the interest of students towards Botany and motivate them to apply this knowledge in their daily life, and environment awareness.
