Resumo
This research analyzes the varied representations of Afro-Brazilian religions in the tunes of the Caprichoso and Garantido bois-bumbás at the Parintins Folk Festival, Amazonas. The historical clipping is limited to the years from 2009 to 2019, considering that from that period the bois-bumbás began to emphasize cultural diversity in their themes and tunes. We are based on the discussions of Sergio Ivan Gil Braga (2002, 2011) to think about the black presence in the Amazon and its permanence in popular cultures, as well as other authors who approach the theme of black religions and the boi-bumbá of Parintins. The research is of a qualitative nature, based on bibliographic sources and interviews with some composers and members of the Commission/Council of Arts of the Bois. We also analyze some songs produced in this period, discussing the Afro-religious representations in the universe of lyrics, instruments and melodies of the tunes, in such a way that we can identify the relationships between the growth of affirmative policies, the visibility of black culture and the transformations in the musical universe of the bass drums.
