Resumo

The 1st International Congress on Indigenous Peoples in Amazonian borders is an event aimed at dialogues between national and international researchers, enabling the construction of indicators for a socio-territorial, geopolitical and environmental scenario of the dynamics and living conditions of human populations in international borders. The event is organized by the Center for Social and Environmental Studies of the Amazon - NESAM through the institutional support of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Human Sciences - PPGICH, from the State University of Amazonas. The Congress was held in the City of Tabatinga, municipality of the State of Amazonas located in the triple border region Brazil, Colombia and Peru, attended to a target audience interested in discussing the theme of Indigenous Peoples in border contexts, these considered beyond their geopolitical and territorial attributions, being socio-cultural, political-economic and ethnic. The proposal was discussed directly with representatives of the different ethnic groups seeking to analyze the challenges and conflicts of contemporary times in the face of the current political and economic situation in Latin America. For this, popular indigenous representations, researchers, professors and university students were invited to compose a reflection where everyone could contribute to future research and collaborations that make it possible to think about today and tomorrow of indigenous societies in panamazonia. The event contributed to establishing a collaborative and assertive network at the national and international levels, enabling the development of research among the regional graduate programs and also giving a voice to the Amazon Indigenous Peoples. The Center for Socio-Environmental Studies of the Amazon - NESAM linked to the State University of Amazonas, together with the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Human Sciences present a proposal that allows the involvement of public research institutions and civil society for an exchange of interdisciplinary knowledge . to discuss the initiatives and experiences on the management of territories in common use and the conservation of natural assets, led by the ethno-knowledge of indigenous Amazonian rural societies in the most diverse meanings on borders. The proposal aims to encourage the scientific production of the research groups of the Universities involved by discussing their academic potential in contexts of the Panamanian frontier in the different areas of knowledge of undergraduate and graduate courses. With this, we will promote the exchange between researchers and students from Universities participating in the Congress, enabling the reaffirmation of interinstitutional research agreements. Therefore, it is expected that with the congress the organizations involved, community leaders, teachers and researchers will be better prepared to mobilize partnerships, support and scenarios for the construction of public policies for the realization of projects and actions that involve protagonism indigenous peoples.
