Resumo
The work presents a research on the development of a Monitoring System for apparent power
using ESP32 and current transformer with remote switching capability for turning on and off
through a relay, intended for residences or small businesses. The main objective is to reduce
energy bills through monitoring, enabling the display of results on a remote-access supervisory
system. Additionally, it aims to provide alerts in case consumption exceeds the target or a
device exhibits abnormal consumption. Firstly, electrical concepts, energy efficiency,
hardware, and software will be addressed. Subsequently, the development of the data collection
board will be presented, along with firmware coding and data transmission to the supervisory
system. Finally, the results and conclusions of the conducted study will be presented. The
developed solution monitors overall consumption, equipment or specific meshes, alerting in
case of abnormal consumption of any of the circuits, and identifying it, allowing the activation
or deactivation of loads via the web, and even automating the switching of these loads.
Although it is not possible to replace the energy meter from the distributor, for approximately
R$580.00, in the year 2023, it was possible to build the prototype with the capabilities
mentioned above, with a relative deviation of 0.75%, against the cost of R$3750.00 if
purchasing off-the-shelf products.
