Resumo
The study focused on renewable sources and alternative materials is constant. Always looking
for alternative materials that can replace current materials, whether of animal and/or vegetable
origin. Thinking about it, the following study was carried out with the purpose of obtaining a
new composite of sandwich structure, with alternative materials, being the vegetable fibers,
already commonly used in other works, bringing as innovation the use of printed material in
PLA and ABS for the manufacture of Honeycomb. The objective of this work is to make
composites of sandwich structure, with the matrices of vegetable fibers, being sisal and jute,
with the honeycomb core of PLA and ABS. The specimens were made and then the specimen
scans were taken through mechanical tests where it was possible to acquire mechanical
characteristics of the composites made. Where it was possible to observe that the structure with
jute matrices and ABS core emerged in relation to the structure with sisal matrix and PLA core,
because it presented properties of a more tenacious material, supporting high effort and
suffering deformation, unlike the other that presented property of a rigid and fragile material.
When comparing the two composites, the sisal structure with ABS supports 44.5% of the
maximum load supported by the other material, in the same proportion presents 44.7% lower
bending stress, 93% lower with the rupture load and 83% higher in relation to displacement.
