Resumo
The aim of this study was to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the operating costs and efficiency of recreational river transportation in the Amazon River basin. The aim was to understand the economic dynamics, logistical challenges and socio-environmental impacts associated with this mode of transport mode, with the aim of providing fundamental insights for the development of strategies and policies that promote sustainability, improve operational efficiency and meet the needs of riverside communities. The study was carried out using a case study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. A research highlights the crucial importance of recreational river transportation in the Brazilian context, offering an effective alternative for getting around in regions with limited road infrastructure. The associated costs, including the purchase and maintenance of vessels, fuel, operating costs and regulatory expenses, demonstrate the financial financial complexity of this modality. The seasonality of the rivers emerges as an impacting factor, requiring logistical adaptations to preserve efficiency and safety. In the basin, recreational river transportation plays a vital role in the connectivity and mobility of mobility of riverside communities, representing not only an efficient logistical alternative, but also an intrinsic component of the local culture and way of life. The challenges, including seasonal river variations and logistical peculiarities, require careful management to optimize management to optimize operating costs, while also considering environmental and social impacts.
