Abstract

Assuming that inventories represent a significant part of an organization's assets, inventory management becomes necessary for its performance. This paper aims to demonstrate the impact that inventory management has on the profitability of an organization, and the evils that could be avoided by using efficient management. A bibliographic research was carried out, explaining about the subject, culminating in a case study in the industry DEM Components Parts e Accessories Ltda, which is located in the Industrial District of Manaus, and found the lack of management of materials in stock and the lack input and output control parameters resulting from stocks in excess quantities. After the study, it was possible to find the management of materials as an excellent ally for reducing costs both in product acquisition, storage and maintenance, because idle stocks reflect in stagnant capital, showing negative impact on financial result. of the organization.
