Aspectos Fonéticos e Fonológico da fala de Parintins: a realização da palatização do /S/ pós-vocálico

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the phenomenon of palatization in the speech of residents of the municipality of Parintins. For this, it takes into account phonetic and phonological aspects of the phenomenon. In addition, this research seeks to deepen the studies of this phenomenon that characterizes the speech of those who live in Parintins. The paper presents research results on palatization in /s/ in syllabic coda, in the middle and at the end of words. The methodology is qualitative, from the field and followed assumptions of theoretical-methodological procedures. Data collection was performed through an interview recorded by the researcher and by reading a list of words. The work was justified by the curiosity to understand how palatization actually occurs in Parintins' speech, how it is carried out, and if this phenomenon is part of the linguistic characteristic of the Parintinese dialect. In addition, this research intends to contribute academically, since the literature offers few studies focused on the phenomena and the dialect of the municipality of Parintins, thus serving as a bibliographical reference for future studies.
