Resumo

To identify in the literature the role of nurses in reproductive planning with na emphasis on long-acting contraceptive methods. Method: integrative review carried out in 4 databases. The sample consisted of 15 studies. Data extraction was performed based on the objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions of each study, aiming to identify evidence that contributed to answering the research question. The analysis of the findings was based on the evidence found and on a pertinent theoretical framework, and the synthesis was performed in a qualitative and descriptive manner. Results: nurses play a central role in expanding access to contraceptives in primary care networks, with relevant results in terms of efficacy and reduction of complications. Despite advances, there are still many challenges and discrepancies in access to these services, within the context of the Unified Health System. Conclusion: by providing accessible guidance and performing procedures such as the insertion of intrauterine devices, nurses assume a leading role in comprehensive reproductive health care in the primary care network. This action contributes significantly to the autonomy and well-being of individuals, promoting more equitable and accessible reproductive health for all.
