Análise do perfil epidemiológico da Tuberculose no sistema prisional do estado do Amazonas (2019 – 2023)

Abstract

To analyze the epidemiological profile of tuberculosis in the prison system of Amazonas (2019-2023). Method: This is a descriptive, epidemiological, quantitative and retrospective study, based on secondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), accessed through DATASUS. Results: There was a fluctuation in the incidence of tuberculosis during the period evaluated, with a decrease in the number of cases in 2019, possibly influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic, peaking in 2021, a new reduction in 2021 and a new increase in 2023. The disease affected mostly men (87%) and people of mixed/black race/color (86%). The pulmonary form represented 97% of cases and 75% of patients were classified as new cases. Conclusion:
