Resumo
The LGBTQIAP+ population has, over time, fought tirelessly to resist social erasure, especially
trans women and transvestites. In recent years, many projects and laws have been established
with the aim of eradicating this erasure, but above all, offering them a sense of social belonging.
Brazil is a country where the formulation of the few public policies aimed at the LGBTQIAP+
population arises from the tireless work of social movements that mobilize, especially the
judiciary, to reflect on the various forms of discrimination, denial, prohibitions and constraints
suffered by trans women and transvestites, who are identified as those who face the most
barriers to accessing health services, from basic care to highly complex care. Most studies on
trans health focus on urban areas, leaving a significant gap in understanding the needs of this
population in rural and remote contexts. The general objective of this study was to understand
the health care processes in Primary Care for trans and transvestite women in the city of
Manaquiri, Amazonas, in 2023. This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, where
we chose to investigate oral reports as a way of understanding the experiences of health service
workers and users, especially through their practices, experiences and criticisms. The work was
carried out in the municipality of Manaquiri, located 160 km from the capital of the state of
Amazonas, Manaus, considered the 62nd largest municipality in territorial extension in the
state. The participants in this research were workers working in the care and management area
of the UBS and UBAS and trans and transvestite women who use the services offered by the
basic units. In total, 17 workers working in care, 05 workers working in management positions
and 04 trans/transvestite women residing in the municipality were interviewed. The workers
were divided into the three Basic Health Units (UBS) located in the area. Data analysis followed
the proposal of Gomes and Mendonça (2002), as they formulate sequential phases that allow
for a clear and objective analysis of the data. In the end, we consider that it is imperative to
promote inclusive and functional strategies, with daily practices of health care for trans women
and transvestites in primary care. These practices should be guided, above all, by the
(re)cognition of the reality of these bodies in different territories, in order to join forces to
minimize the annihilation already suffered throughout their lives and open the main gateway to
SUS services for trans women and transvestites.
