Resumo

This work addresses the role of the pedagogue at the Amazon Museum in the city of Manaus. The interest in the theme arose out of the curiosity to understand how the pedagogue is located in the museum spaces and how he can contribute beyond the school environment. This is an investigation into how the pedagogue works at the Amazon Museum and how it can contribute to the society in which it is located. The research had the general objective of investigating the professional performance of the pedagogue at the Amazon Museum, as a space for culture and education. The following specific objectives are outlined: to understand the Museum as a space for culture, education and pedagogical practices; understand the role of the pedagogue in museum spaces; investigate the specificities of the Pedagogue’s work at the Amazon Museum. The methodology was based on a qualitative research approach in education, with exploratory bibliographical research and documentary study of public archives, museum documents and content from the museum's Instagram social network. For data collection and analysis, Carlo Ginzburg's evidentiary paradigm (1989) was used, an interpretative method. The results showed that the museum is a space for scientific dissemination and promotion of knowledge, and pedagogy in this field is essential to mediate scientific knowledge and adapt it to the public. The Museum also has the role of disseminating Amazonian/indigenous knowledge for all age groups. There is work to involve the population in art, recording activities both in the museum and in other places. This study showed that the role of the pedagogue at the Amazon Museum is fundamental during the planning of activities and the development of pedagogical practices. It is noted that the pedagogy professional needs to be in constant training to promote pedagogical practices. The pedagogue's work is not individual, he mediates activities and projects, together with schools, artists and researchers. Keyword: Museum Education. Non-School Spaces. Pedagogy.
