Resumo

The historical trajectory of indigenous women is marked by much struggle and resistance, since their role in society has long been limited to the home, as mothers and domestic servants. From this imposed condition, demands began to form that led to the creation of the first indigenous women's movements in the last decades of the 20th century. That said, this research was developed to understand this process of struggle for the integration of indigenous women, based on the analysis of the trajectories of two activists, who work in the context of political and environmental activism, respectively: Vanda Witoto and Txai Suruí. To this end, we considered the Oral History methodology, to compose the corpus of analysis, but also to enable the speeches of the women in question. In addition, we carried out bibliographic and documentary research, which allowed access to different sources and to certain reflections on the theme chosen here. Knowing the life stories of those who are dedicated to changing the still unequal scenario into a fair and equitable one, thus understanding the struggles of an entire minority, is important and necessary, since it leads us to understand their scope and their demands, which are still diverse, in a predominantly sexist and patriarchal society.
