Resumo
This research addresses the leading roles of Sateré-Mawé indigenous women in indigenous social movements of the “present time”. It is situated in the field of Social History and dialogues with the methodology of Oral History, from which two women report their trajectories and experiences in the struggle for rights. Among other things, the text brings reflections that help to (re)think the importance of Sateré-Mawé women as articulators in indigenous political movements and associations in the struggle for rights. It does so by identifying the trajectories of Moi Sateré and Tuxawa Santa Castro with trajectories marked by their participation in these movements. This points, among other things, to trajectories of leading roles, contributing to breaking with the paradigm of silencing historically imposed on Sateré-Mawé women, who did not accept being silenced and increasingly placed/place themselves on the scene of the struggles, using the most varied languages and agencies.
