Resumo
This study's main objective is to diagnose the walkability of a stretch of Avenida Darcy Vargas, in Manaus, using the iCam 2.0 Walkability Index, developed by the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy Brazil. Considering the current challenges of urban mobility and the predominance of motorized trans port, the premise is that the roadway presents significant deficiencies in the in frastructure designed for pedestrians. The research is justified by the need to balance the requirements of environmental preservation, safety, and pedestrian movement. The theoretical framework highlights the concept of walkability, wal kability indexes, the accessibility standard (NBR 9050), and the iCam 2.0. The methodology included defining sidewalk segments, applying technical field ins truments, and analyzing data according to the tool's criteria. Specifically, the me thodology was based on collecting field data for the 15 indicators distributed across six categories (Sidewalk, Mobility, Attraction, Road Safety, Public Safety, and Environment), calculating scores weighted by the length of each analyzed segment. The expected results are the diagnosis of the avenue's infrastructure conditions and the identification of the main critical points, assisting public autho rities in decision-making and interventions.
