Resumo
The present study aims to propose a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the use of Foam Generating Liquid (FGL) in firefighting operations involving urban waste, dumps, or controlled landfills, conducted by the Military Fire Department of Amazonas (CBMAM). The research adopted a qualitative approach, based on a literature review, document analysis, and the administration of a structured questionnaire to 40 military firefighters serving in combat units in the capital. In addition, a pilot experimental test was conducted to determine the most appropriate FGL dosage, testing concentrations of 0%, 3%, and 6%. The results showed that the 3% concentration offers the best balance between efficiency and economy, significantly reducing both the extinguishing time and the volume of water used. The questionnaire responses revealed training gaps, the absence of uniform technical criteria, and the need for standardization, with 95% of participants supporting the creation of a specific SOP. The final product, developed based on these findings, is structured into operational stages that guide procedures from the arrival at the incident to the cleaning of the foam system, consolidating itself as a technical instrument applicable to the CBMAM’s operational reality and contributing to the strengthening of safety culture and standardized management practices.
