Resumo
This article presents the results of a study on teaching and learning through the construction of didactic resources using alternative and natural materials, aiming to open up possibilities for teaching and facilitate learning in geography classes. The research is justified by the need to develop students' empirical and pre-constructed knowledge through methodologies that allow them to relate the studied content to their place of life, valuing their existing knowledge. The objective of this work was to develop didactic resources using alternative natural materials based on school curriculum. The theoretical basis is found in Cavalcanti (1998), Rafael Straforini (2004), and Pontuschka (2004). The methodology involved bibliographic research to understand the concepts and theoretical foundations, thus materializing the school curriculum. The construction of alternative and natural didactic materials required the selection of elements from nature, such as leaves, vines, sand, clay, grass, and rocks. The importance of materializing the content lies in facilitating teaching and learning in a riverside school in the Amazon.
