O uso do verbo “vir” na fala de moradores da Comunidade nossa Senhora da Saúde-Uaicurapá

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This article aims to present the sociolinguistic factors that influence the variation in the use of the verb "vir" (to come) in the speech of residents of the Nossa Senhora da Saúde community, located in the rural area of Parintins. The research adopted a quantitative-qualitative approach, using twenty semi-structured interviews with participants from different social groups. The theoretical framework was based on Labov (2008), Tarallo (2000), Bortoni (2014), Bechara (2019), and Bagno (2014), among others. The results indicate that the variation of the verb "vir" is being influenced by low education levels and the age range of 37 to 77 years, which predominate in the context of the community studied.
