Resumo

The theme entitled is The psychological disorder F94.0, the excessive silence that goes beyond shyness in the school context, which aimed to know the challenges encountered during the teaching / learning process of a student with selective mutism, in early childhood education in a certain child study center, of the municipal network of the city of Parintins - AM. Its foundations were based on the assumptions of the following authors: Raushen (2018), Ribeiro (2012), Rocha (2014), Peixoto (2017), Caroli (2017), Baldaçara (2015), DSM-IV-TR (2014) study, Mello (2017), Fonseca (2002) and Salamanca Declaration (1994). To carry out the study, it was necessary to analyze how the other students saw the student with selective mutism, as well as map the teacher's pedagogical procedures in relation to the student with selective mutism in the teaching / learning process of early childhood education. The research of qualitative nature and exploratory study, had an approach the dialectical method, with bibliographic procedures, case study and interview, having as subjects and universe of the research a center of infantile education, teacher, and a student with selective mutism, its responsible and other students. It was possible to verify how the teaching and learning process of the student with mutism develops. The student with this disorder showed no difficulties in motor coordination or in assimilating the contents. The mapping of the teacher's pedagogical procedures with his own techniques and his limited knowledge about the disorder, as well as that of the other students, allowed a deep analysis, that one of the most specific problems of this disorder, is the lack of social interaction regarding the student with mutism , having withdrawals and oddities. In this way, the present research made it possible to go deeper into the theme and thus assist the teacher in his pedagogical practice, through the information collected.
