Resumo

The present study, entitled, aimed to investigate whether a school located in a rural community in the city of Parintins is structurally prepared to meet the special educational needs of students: MAZOTTA (2003), FONSECA (1995);FREIRE (2008), among other authors who gave theoretical support to the research and allowed us to enter the theme with greater autonomy considering previous research carried out, based on inclusion policies, on the issue of the physical structure of the school and accessibility. The methodology used to obtain data received a qualitative bias through qualitative research, with bibliographic bases, having the phenomenological approach as its main methodological contribution, through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and observations. The result of this research can contribute so that schools and the school community as a whole know what to expect from the competent authorities, in the sense of structuring the school, so that it can meet the special educational needs of the disabled students who are part of it. , especially with regard to wheelchair users, the main focus of this research. Thus, it is extremely important to understand the struggle of school institutions located mainly in rural areas and reflect on the difficulties faced by these schools located in rural communities, such as the school that served as the field for this investigation, and contribute to guaranteeing a qualified education. for the children.
