Resumo
This experience report focused on the rich relationship between religiosity and faith in the healing process in Novo Aripuanã. The practices and beliefs of three religious communities were analyzed: the Catholic Church; the World Church of the Power of God; and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This research aims to understand how these different religious traditions approach healing, both spiritual and physical, through their ritual practices and through the accounts of experiences of believers who claim to have their health restored. To achieve this objective, the Oral History method was used, based on the guidelines and procedures developed by Meihy. Thus, interviews were conducted with members and leaders of the churches to form oral sources and from there analyze the points that make up the narratives about healing in each of these denominations. In general, the collected accounts show that faith is fundamental in the way individuals face illnesses and personal challenges. It offers comfort, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose. Furthermore, this research highlights the importance of including spiritual dimensions in holistic health practices. Ultimately, this study seeks to enrich the understanding of the intersection between religiosity and health in specific contexts.
