Abstract

The phylum Arthropod is inserted within the animal kingdom where it establishes interest of both teachers and students, enchanted by the beauty, variety of species and by the direct and indirect links combined with humans, highlight the usefulness of crustaceans in cooking, home disasters with spiders and insects, as well as the ecological and economic relevance of insects as: agents of biological control, pollinators, pests of agriculture, forestry, livestock and disease transmitters. Knowledge and understanding of the bonds that groups of this phylum constitute with man are essential for a good quality of life. life, implying that this content is full of knowledge relevant to everyday life. However, it is frequently observed the occurrence of children and adults with misconceptions and often associated with popular beliefs (ALVES et al. al., 2006).
