Resumo

This work aimed to analyze the biometric characteristics of seeds of Hevea brasiliensis (Willd. Ex A. Juss.) Müll. Arg. collected from different matrices of the lower Amazon region. The seeds were collected in the city of Boa Vista do Ramos (BVR)-AM, distant 272 km straight from the capital, at the coordinates: 2 ° 58 '18 "S and 57 ° 35' 12" W. The seeds used were collected under the canopy of the mother trees, 100 seeds were collected from each matrix, totaling 400 seeds. The experimental design was completely randomized (IHD), with four treatments and four repetitions. Data were analyzed by SISVAR software. For the variable length of seeds of Hevea brasiliensis, M1 matrices on the edge of a 28.22 mm SAF and M2 matrix on the side of a 27.73 mm pasture had the highest averages, considered statistically equal. The M3 matrix located in isolated open area with 26.59 mm and the M4 matrix within a 22.50 mm forest fragment both differed statistically and presented statistical difference of the M1 and M2 matrices being inferior to them. For the seed width variable, the matrices M1 and M2 presented the highest averages with 22.51 mm and 22.64 mm, respectively, and did not differ statistically. The matrix M3 obtained the intermediate average with 21.73 mm and the matrix M4 presented the smallest average with only 17.76 mm. The matrices M3 and M4 presented statistical difference among themselves and were inferior to the matrices M1 and M2. For the variable thickness of rubber seeds, the matrices M1, M2 and M3 obtained values of 18.09 mm, 18.17 mm and 17.79 mm respectively, not differing statistically. The matrix M4 presented the average of 14.37 mm being inferior and statistically differing from the other matrices. For the weight variable, the averages obtained were 123.75 g, 116.25 g, 105.0 g and 87.75 g for the matrices M1, M2, M3 and M4 respectively. For this variable, all matrices presented statistical difference among themselves, being M1 superior to the others and inferior M4, the matrices M2 and M3 presented intermediate values. The seeds collected from matrices in different environments presented variations in their respective sizes and weight, being the matrix located inside the forest fragment presented biometric characteristics inferior to the others and the one close to the superior SAF.
