Resumo

The practice of bullying affects school performance, social relationships and the quality of life of adolescents. Some teenagers who have difficulties in relating to others feel insecure about their appearance or their way of being. In cases of bullying, the aggressor begins to exploit this to belittle his victim, which is very Common in the school environment and requires effective actions by everyone who works at the school. In this sense, dance, with its reflective potential, can collaborate in the socialization of those who practice it, especially through the recognition and respect of subjective differences. This is the enchantment of art and it was based on this enchantment that in the present research, of a descriptive and qualitative nature, we established as a general objective: to understand the situations of bullying among students of the 1st year of high school in a public school in north zone of Manaus, as well as the resources of urban dances for the recognition and respect to the personal singularities and sensitization of these students about the consequences caused by the practice of bullying. The instruments used were semi-structured interviews with six students, urban dance workshops and student testimonials after the end of the research. Through data analysis, whose axis was content analysis (Bardin, 2009), we can see that students recognize the existence of bullying among themselves, the most frequent types being: Nicknames, verbal aggression, prejudice due to sexual orientation or race , class exclusion, etc. Students also recognize the importance of dance in social formation, respect and empathy with others, which can point a way for bullying to be addressed at school as a way of coping with this problem that has repercussions inside and outside it.
