Resumo

The act of knowing about the production of an academic group to elaborate a preface approaches science research practices in which, through reflected procedures, one seeks to penetrate the collectivities and individualities of peoples and to understand their forms of think, the political and ethical criteria that guide them, their social relations, their religious systems and their religiosities, their forms of economic relations and politics, its everyday ideology and its philosophy of life. Saved the differences, the orientation of these paragraphs is to penetrate the works of the authors who were willing to expose their positions, secrets and even the rituals of the craft of a historian in the Amazon. Thinking, doing and teaching history: challenges for the historian's profession in Amazonas is a collective production, with 19 authors, which starts from the premise of that there is no single way to exist, live and reflect history. too enunciates the differences that need to be recognized by the practitioner of the craft, all the more so because historical agents represent diversity itself cultural, as well as the loci of social experiences are diverse, in constant relationship and negotiation of meaning. Some observations on the objects and research methods of this new history and new historians allow us to penetrate the relations between knowledge, micro-history and the insertion of the researcher in the social world Amazon, which facilitates the understanding of the complexity of society and choice of themes renewed in this book. At first, it means understanding that the history of the Amazon written by the 19 authors is a diversified exercise to recover the uniqueness and arbitrariness of different eras and how certain men think about themselves, an idea taken from lucid interpretation by Paul Veyne (2011) .1 An observation to think about the thematic and theoretical orientations of the group is that they are not in the field of arbitrary, will and even unlucky, and that they are often driven by guidelines and interests indefinite, for the passion for a theme, for a time, for facts and characters or by the nature of the social, economic and political relationship.
