Resumo
This research, in the form of an Experience Report, addresses the memories of Novo Aripuanã residents regarding the Military Dictatorship and the period of redemocratization. The objective was to investigate the memories of residents of this municipality, through their narratives, about the period of the Civil-Military Dictatorship, from 1982 to 1992, a period that encompasses the final years of the regime and the early years of the New Republic. Oral history techniques were used as methodological support, with interviews with seven individuals who contributed information on the topic under investigation. Among the results achieved, it is possible to note that: local repression occurred related to the implementation problems of Project Hope, such as neglect and the difficulties faced by the project. Politically, there was no interference by the military regime, and ordinary people apparently did not experience this conflict or actions during this period, as there is a lack of knowledge regarding the Military Dictatorship. Therefore, this work shows that in Novo Aripuanã there is no collective memory of the final years of the dictatorship, since ordinary people in society, who represent the vast majority, do not have a clear vision of what this period represented.
