Tecnologia educacional para pacientes em cuidados paliativos oncológicos domiciliares: validação baseada em evidências

Abstract

Cancer is a complex and challenging disease caused by genetic alterations or external factors. Some patients with this disease may not respond to available therapies, and therefore, palliative oncology care can help them get through the end of life. To this end, information about the subject can be disseminated through educational technologies. Objectives: To validate an educational technology for patients receiving home palliative oncology care based on the synthesis and translation of knowledge available in the literature. Method: Methodological study with a quantitative approach to validate educational technology content, from September 2021 to June 2022. It consisted of sending an email containing a link to the evaluation instrument to be completed on Google Forms, an acceptance link, and a copy of the educational technology in Portable Document Format to expert judges in the health field and judges from other areas. Results: Five expert judges in the health field and 3 judges from other areas participated in the research. The instrument of the judges containing 21 items from the health area obtained, according to the Global Content Validity Index, an index of 0.80. To be considered validated, a minimum Content Validity Index of 0.70 must be obtained. Conclusion: The booklet was considered validated, according to the judges who are experts in the health area and professionals from other areas, which makes it a reliable and accessible instrument for cancer patients to obtain correct information and guidance for palliative care at home.
