Na tessitura da vida: História oral de mulheres artesãs no município de Itacoatiara

Abstract

This research explores the oral history of several female artisans from the municipality of Itacoatiara, Amazonas state, emphasizing the importance of this cultural endeavor that brings together stories and life experiences. Currently, these women rely on support networks such as the association ARTEITA (Itacotiara Artisans Association). The research methodology consists of oral narratives based on interviews conducted with three artisan collaborators at different times and of different ages. Based on bibliographic research, we gathered several key sources that guided the theoretical foundation of the work, such as Ana Barbosa (2008), José Carlos Meihy (2005), and Roberto DaMatta (1986). The oral history interviews enabled the creation of documentary sources and the preservation of the collective memory of these women who narrate their trajectories in different contexts.
