Resumo
The book arose from the experiences conducted through the Primates Project and its extension activities in the city of Manaus, Amazonas. The Primates Project (PPUEA) was created in 2017 by a team from the Higher Normal School (ENS) of the Amazonas State University (UEA), as a way to direct research and extension studies aimed at producing greater knowledge about the life of the monkeys of the Amazon rainforest and alert to the conservation of nature, the monkeys' home, as well as our entire biodiversity. This work is a proposal for Environmental Education to be applied in schools and experienced by students in a playful and fun way, without excluding the basic knowledge needed to raise the awareness of the school community to protect the environment, including the fauna and flora of our region. We believe that the contents addressed in this book will add more knowledge to science teachers, enriching their classes and their out-of-class activities, since these contents can be used in the classroom in the context defined by the teacher, provoking the scientific curiosity of students about the theme in question. Moreover, we consider this work a didactic alternative for use also in non-formal spaces (such as zoos or parks), in order to involve the whole society in the quest for conservation.
