Abstract

Logistical efficiency and proper container management are decisive factors for the competitiveness of companies operating within the Industrial Pole of Manaus. In this context, this study presents an analysis of the feasibility of implementing an internal container yard, aiming to optimize the storage process and reduce costs associated with external warehouse rentals. The main objective was to evaluate the economic and operational benefits of the project, considering aspects of infrastructure, storage capacity, and operational expenses. The research adopts an applied and quantitative approach, based on real company data, technical dimensioning of the area, and a comparative cost analysis before and after the project implementation. The results demonstrated that the proposed yard can store up to 561 containers, meeting a significant portion of the company’s monthly demand and reducing storage costs from R$ 2,520,000.00 to R$ 1,084,800.00. With a total investment of R$ 5,317,000.00, the project achieved a payback period of approximately 3.7 months, proving its high economic and operational feasibility. It is concluded that the implementation of the container yard represents a strategic solution that promotes greater logistical autonomy, cost reduction, and enhanced production efficiency for the company.
