Resumo
This research focuses on the topic of relationships between regionalism and linguistic
variations in the context of Youth and Adult Education in Elementary School in a school
located in Tefé-AM whose basis is made up of topics contextualizing the History of EJA in
Brazil, as well as the subjects and authors of citizenship and training of EJA teachers. The
theoretical framework was based on Alfredina (2019), Antunes (2007), Arroyo (2003),
Bagno (1997), Brasil (1998), Denzi (2006), Fernandes (2014), Gala (2012), Gil (2008),
Lakatos e Marconi (2017), Mateus (2007), Mordaz (2011), Lopes Neto (1998) , Neves
(2006), Patriota (2006) and Zatera (2020), in which the relationship between regionalism
and linguistic variations was highlighted. Furthermore, the methodology was guided by
Lakatos and Marconi (2017), among others. The research techniques were observation, the
workshop and the questionnaire containing open and closed questions applied to students in
the 3rd segment of EJA. The results obtained indicate that the majority of students use
linguistic variants in the school context. In this way, the research served to show the
importance of regionalism and linguistic variation within the classroom, thus highlighting
the need to promote respect and appreciation for everyone's way of speaking
