Resumo
Bioprospecting is a way of systematically exploiting nature in search of genetic materials
for commercial purposes, and has become a major focus of biotechnology. The term
bioprospecting can be understood as the systematic search for organisms, genes,
enzymes, compounds, processes and parts from living things that have economic
potential and eventually lead to product development. Therefore, it is necessary that we
perform a screening of fungi belonging to various groups in order to select for further
and deeper studies, those with ligninolytic potential. It is noteworthy that the
determination of enzymes a work that consumes time and chemical material not always
of low cost, which makes any research in this sense more expensive. In this context, we
present the present project where we intend to use the methodology proposed by
Bavendamm to perform a preliminary evaluation of Amazon fungi with biotechnological
potential. The collection wasperformed in the city of Boca do Acre in the summer
period, the strains were labeled and identified in the laboratory, and later bioprospection
with tannic acid was performed. Of the twelve Amazonian strains evaluated, five
presented halos indicative for phenol oxidases enzymes. However, the greatest activity
was evidenced for the species Trametes cubensis, with a mean of halos in 72 hours of
activities of 14 and 16 mm, respectively. Despite the favorable result, it is essential to
optimize these processes, such as different carbon sources, pH range and also to
determine the enzymes of the phenol oxidase class, such as lacase.
