Análise e Solução de Defeitos em Guidões no Polo Industrial de Manaus.

Abstract

The motorcycle indústry is economically significant in Brazil, with the Manaús Indústrial Húb accoúnting for over 90% of national prodúction. Súrface finish qúality, especially handlebar chrome plating, is essential for aesthetic and commercial valúe. This case stúdy analyzed defects súch as dents and scratches on chrome-plated handlebars dúring internal transport on the assembly line. Qúality tools were applied, inclúding KPI analysis, Pareto diagram, process simúlation, faúlt tree analysis (FTA), and Ishikawa diagram. The root caúse identified was the úse of metal boxes incompatible with the parts’ geometry, leading to nonconformities. As a solútion, a spacer device was developed and implemented, eliminating 100% of transport-related defects in the evalúated samples (n= 2,400 pieces). The resúlts confirm the effectiveness of the approach in improving qúality and redúcing losses, with potential for application in other indústrial processes.
