This article addresses the importance of family involvement in the school environment of deaf students at the Integrated Center for Inclusive Special Education in the municipality of Tabatinga - AM. It investigates, in the education process of these students, the need and how much the support of their families influences the development of school activities of the special child, even though they have specialized teachers and school tutoring involved. It is also about inclusion and the difficulty of developing it due to the lack of interest of parents and/or guardians for students with special needs, specifically students with special hearing needs. Two mothers of two students with hearing impairment who participate in classes at the center were selected, and two teachers who teach these and other students at the integrated center and special and inclusive education, in which they answered a questionnaire during an informal interview. Thus, we will understand the “why” of the parents and/or guardians of these children not seeking the best for their child, the special education centers and even the educators, however equipped and specialized they may be, need their help, as, without support when the student leaves school for home, there will be no results for education.
