Abstract

This research, entitled Pedagogy in mental health: The role of the pedagogue in psychosocial care at CAPS II Adolfo Lourido Parintins /AM, has the general objective of analyzing the role of the pedagogue in psychosocial care at CAPS II Adolfo Lourido, in Parintins /AM. The theme aims to answer why the Pedagogy professional is essential in the care and follow-up of patients who have some mental pathology, in addition to contributing contextually to the theme worked on. As theoretical contributions we have RODRIGUES et al (2010), ABRAHÃO, MELLO & SOUZA (2016), AZEVEDO & GOMES (2017), SILVA & GOIS (2019). The cited authors allow us a reflective look from the pedagogical function in the context of mental and social health, aiming to deepen the knowledge about the subject “mental health”, in addition to understanding the process of establishment of Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPSs). We also present the methodology based on qualitative research, with a phenomenological approach, highlighting the procedures adopted in the production of this work, the collection of information, through interviews, with professionals working at the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) Adolfo Lourido, located in Parintins, to understand the pedagogue's work and the difference between it and the others. The research culminated in showing us the relevance of the pedagogue's work in psychosocial care centers, as well as the lack of these professionals in these spaces and the difficult access to research that adopts the presented theme.
