Resumo
Studies aimed at the field of biological sciences, specifically for the teaching of virology,
present a complexity of assimilation because they are microorganisms that can only be
seen through a microscope. Bearing in mind that not all schools have a laboratory with
the necessary equipment to make these contents accessible and traditional classes are not
enough, the use of a digital game called “Heal The System” was proposed, with the aim
of contributing to the process of appropriation of concepts in virology by students in
science teaching. This study, based on the quantitative method, proposed the application
of the game “Heal The System” in a school in the municipal network of Manaus-Am,
where it validated a didactic sequence that was divided into three moments: lecture on
virology and pre-game questionnaire, experience with the game and post-game quiz.
After analyzing the data, it was found that the didactic game contributed to improving
knowledge about virology for 90% of the students. Both students and the teacher
indicated that the didactic sequence complemented with the digital didactic game favored
understanding and engagement in this field of science.
