Resumo
The representation of the female condition in the work Sangue Negro, by Noémia de
Souza, during the period of Portuguese domination that enslaved thousands of Africans, made
the woman as a being who suffered not only from racial discrimination, but also from the
devaluation due to a created image. But, even in the face of a stereotypical
stereotyped image, the Mozambican woman resisted and fought against imposition. Therefore, this
work aims to analyze three poems by Noemia de Souza: "Poem", "Moças das docas" and
and "Woman who laughs at life and death," to present the female condition represented in
poetic writer. As reinforcement, we address the context in which the literature was formed in
Mozambique. We show the importance of the press for the propagation of this literature. At
Finally, we focus on the analysis of the poems cited from the understanding that the struggles of
African liberation struggles influenced the positioning of Mozambican writers
Noêmia de Souza.
