Resumo
This work aims to present the impacts caused by the pandemic through remote classes in the Youth and Adult Education-EJA teaching modality, through data collection carried out at Escola Municipal Professora Jociêdes Andrade regarding the results obtained by students in the years that preceded the pandemic (2019) with the years in which it occurred (2020, 2021). The methodology used was sufficient to quantitatively verify the students' academic performance, however the research in general brought to light other problems that affect the academic performance of students in this modality. The justifications raised previously are confirmed, as students already had many difficulties before the pandemic with understanding mathematics subjects, and the lack of eye contact with the teacher ended up further damaging their academic performance. However, I emphasize that this type of teaching is quite challenging due to the difficulties and social problems faced by students, as low performance means that new methodologies can be thought of as solutions to deal with this problem where patience and perseverance in students is extremely important. for teachers to be able to deal with this challenge.
