Disfonias em professores de biologia um estudo nas escolas estaduais do município de Parintins AM

Abstract

Dysphonia in teachers resulting from their teaching activities has become common during the development of their activities in the classroom, so this study with biology teachers in state schools of the public network in the urban area of the municipality of Parintins - Amazonas, had with the objective of knowing the situation of problems related to the health of the vocal cords of these professionals, using as a data collection instrument a Questionnaire for Identification of Possible Voice Problems by Behlau and Rehder (1997), applied to 10 teachers who work in teaching Biology in the County. The results were that 40% of the professionals already had some symptom and were away from work for at least 4 days, the average time off work was 5.5 days and the maximum time was 7 days. The prevalence of dysphonia was high among Biology teachers in the first four years of their profession. This study suggests that preventive measures should be adopted, both by teachers and by the organization they are part of.
